Day 1 of rebuilding myself after a performative relationship. A performative relationship drains you because you aren't actually living—you are just acting. For the longest time, I've felt that my life is one big performance. Spending hours to prepare to show the perfect smile, to say the perfect words, and to be the perfect person that people look up to and aspire to be. But I realized that no matter what you do or what you say, people will have their reason to hate you or pull you down, or discredit everything that you have worked hard for. God made us all to be imperfect creatures as an act of mercy, because TRYING TO BE PERFECT IS HARD! Embracing your imperfection is the only way we can live without regrets while still appreciating the beauty of life. Today, I finally stepped off the stage.   When you step away from the stage, the temptation is to explain your side, defend your character, or prove to the audience what really happened. But real maturity is realizing that your peace is worth more than any validation. I’m letting go of the need to prove anything to anyone anymore.   From here on out, my only focus is looking in the mirror and building the man I want to become. The spirit stays kind, but the focus is locked. No grand announcements. No bitterness. Just a quiet commitment to my own mind and body. The loudest comeback is a completely silent execution.  To everyone who shared both the laughs and tears with me -- I hope you are with me on my new journey to rebuilding myself.
