Christmas ham doesn’t have to be overwhelming, so let me break it down for you… Using @woolworths_au $8kg half leg ham and their NEW Fig, Honey and Thyme glaze to take that extra pressure off on your busy day. #ad Method: Preheat your oven to 160 degrees. Run your knife around the circumference of the bone just enough to separate the skin and carefully remove all of the skin below it leaving as much fat on as possible. Leaving the skin on the bone will help us hold and maneuver the ham when it’s time to carve. Use a paring knife to very carefully score the fat in a square or diamond pattern. Be careful not to score too deep into the ham. We only want to score the fat. Prepare a large roasting tray with a roasting rack to keep the ham elevated and approximately 1.5cups of water in the bottom of the pan. Wrap foil around the bone with the skin on to prevent it from burning. Cover the entire tray with foil and place into the oven for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, scrunch up a ball of foil to place under the bone to ensure the ham is level before you do your first baste of the glaze. Pop it back into the oven, uncovered and crank the heat to 180 degrees. Continue basting the ham with the glaze every 15 minutes until you’re happy with the colour and caramelisation. I basted mine 3-4 times. Once it’s finished, allow the ham to rest for 10-15 minutes before carving. #christmasham #glazedham #christmasrecipes
