The only potato bake recipe you need tbh 🤷🏼‍♀️ More tips and recipe below 👇🏼 ingredients:  4-5 potatoes, peeled and sliced  250g streaky bacon  1 tbsp butter  1 brown onion, diced  4 garlic cloves, finely chopped  2 tbsp flour  500ml milk  Salt and pepper  Cheese of choice  Tips continued:  - Dicing the bacon before cooking will cause an uneven cook. Yes it’ll take you longer to cook in batches in the pan but we want that bacon fat for extra flavour.  - I like to pour the bacon fat into a bowl so I can give the pan a wipe down to remove any burnt bits before adding the onions.  - Add the milk gradually to the béchamel. Wait until it thickens before adding more until your desired consistency is reached.  - Season and taste as many times as you see fit until the béchamel is exactly how you like it. Enough salt will do wonders for this dish!  - Have your oven preheating (obvs) at 180 degrees.  - This will probably take longer to cook than you think. Be patient. Stick a knife in multiple areas to ensure it’s cooked evenly throughout. I have a dodgy oven to I turned the tray half way.  - Depending on how many layers you do will depend on how long it takes in the oven. I added cheese onto mine after 80 minutes in the oven. So 1.5 hours in total once the cheese has a chance to get golden brown.  - Avoid filling your tray to the very top. It will bubble and pour over otherwise.
