If you're about to start a strength training session, warming up can be important to help you prepare and perform at your best.

My first tip is to warm the body up with 10-15 minutes of low-moderate cardio. Then move into dynamic movements that are relevant and will complement your range of movement for your particular session. For example, if it's squat day you can do a range of movements to enhance ankle and hip mobility which will complement your squat form.

I then like to fire up the muscle groups we intend to train using smaller isolated movements. For example, if we are still on squat day, you could perform 20 single leg glute raises to get the glutes ready.

Finally, I'll perform a few warm up sets prior to loading up any barbell!

Following a warm-up routine could make a big difference in how you perform and feel during your training session. Give it a try and see how it works for you!
