A COME FROM BEHIND MOMENT: In honor of the 1989-90 Elite Eight team’s 25th Anniversary, we continue to look at moments in LMU Hoops’ history. On this date, Jan. 27, 1968 Rick Adelman (pictured) led the Lions to an 85-79 come-from-behind victory over rival Peperdine. As told from the 1968 Loyola (LMUTower) Yearbook: “Adelman shunned his offensive fortes, scoring and ball-handling, to save L.U. from embarrassment and elimination against the ‘Peps.’ With Loyola down by eight to the Waves (and eight minutes left) Rick stole the ball three times to bring the Lions even. Jack Curran and Dick Zembal took charge in overtime, regionally-telecast 85-79 win.” #LMULions #ILoveLMU
