Graduate Spotlight 🎓: Justin Johnson 

Justin is from Philadelphia, PA, currently pursuing a master's in advertising and brand responsibility. A former UO offensive lineman, he completed his bachelor's in public relations with a minor in sports business in 2022. 

Justin has found community by obtaining leadership roles through different organizations on campus and developed a passion for advertising along the way. He is a strategy director and student-athlete insights and playbook liaison for Oregon Accelerator. “My role includes designing and implementing brand strategy and storytelling in a collaborative team, providing relatable insights from a former student-athlete perspective to help drive research, and developing future student partner personas and workflow optimization guidelines,” Justin said. In addition, he is a member of Allen Hall Advertising, where he is an account manager and strategist.

“What made my experience at the University of Oregon special was my ability to hang up my jersey as a student-athlete and be embraced by the faculty and my peers to become #MoreThanAnAthlete,” Justin said. "Most students would've enjoyed walking away with their bachelor's degree. I felt inclined to apply my knowledge, experience, and story to be more than an athlete and pursue a master's degree."

After graduation, Justin will be returning to 24/7 Laundry Service to participate in a summer internship as a social media management intern. Following that, he will be participating in 4A's MAIP (Multicultural Advertising Intern Program) as a fellow and will be working as an account management intern working with Dentsu International.
