Absolute scenes x The Dancing Plague of 1518 began in Strasbourg, when a woman named Frau Troffea suddenly started throwing shapes uncontrollably in the street. Within days, people wanted to join in on the fun and started throwing it back too. People danced for hours, then days, some collapsing from sheer exhaustion or even dying from strokes or heart attacks. The city authorities were baffled, and their solution was… more dancing. They hired musicians and cleared spaces, hoping to let the dancers “get it out of their system,” but it only seemed to make things worse. The outbreak lasted weeks. #history #historytok #historymemes #CapCut
