How could I not kick off these shows without paying homage to DANCING QUEEN? I mean.. It would be rude not to! Last year, I created an entire comedy show around this performance, and sold out 15 shows nationally. One of my most notable achievements to date.  For those who missed it, the show was my memoir (that no one would publish, so I decided to share it live on stage). At the end of the show, I referenced this performance, I already loved Kylie by this time, but this is the performance that solidified me as a fan forever, I was only 5 years old.  Kylie had sung Dancing Queen at her 1998 tour: Intimate and Live. She wanted to include the song on the setlist as a nod to her gay audience for their support throughout her career. Reviving her version for the closing ceremony at the 2000 Olympics, changed my life for so many reasons; the impact, the energy, the costumes, the dancers, the sheer volume of viewers worldwide. It was inspiring. But… most importantly, because she looked like she was having the time of her life. Will take you through the full look tomorrow but this is my version of @Kylie Minogue DANCING QUEEN! I’m ditching the headpiece for the concert cause it doesn’t quite match! But it’s fun for pics. I’m even wearing my BUSTED shoes I wore to the final Dancing Queen show in Melbourne last year. It felt correct, even though they probably need to go in the bin.
As I sit here about to head to the venue here in Perth to kick off this 10 show tour, it feels quite appropriate that this would be the first look I take inspiration from. I’ll explain the details and more tomorrow! Bye for now darls, I’m off to see KYLIE! SHOW 1 of 10 📍Perth, WA, Australia (full disclosure: some of these pics have been edited and enhanced) #dancingqueen #tensiontour #kylieminogue #tensiontouraustralia
