Bhosle's voice was heard in hundreds of films with over 12,000 songs to her name over a career spanning more than eight decades. While her distinctive voice was iconic across Indian cinema, she achieved greater international fame starting in the 90s thanks to a tribute track from English rock band Cornershop called 'A Brimful of Asha' and collaborations with artists such as Boy George and Michael Stipe.
