U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents will be present at the Milan-Cortina Winter Games in a limited security support role, according to U.S. officials. The agency says it will assist diplomatic security efforts, will not carry out immigration enforcement, and that all operations remain under Italian control. The announcement comes after days of confusion among Italian authorities and growing political backlash. Tensions intensified after footage circulated showing Italian journalists being confronted by U.S. agents while reporting in Minneapolis, prompting calls for Italy’s government to respond. Milan Mayor Giuseppe Sala said the agents are “not welcome,” while activists have launched a petition to block their presence at the Milan-Cortina Winter Games, which has gathered thousands of signatures. U.S. Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio are expected to attend the opening ceremony.#ComfortSegredos
