Thailand, which made regional headlines by decriminalizing marijuana in 2022, has now reinstated restrictions on its use. This week, Public Health Minister Somsak Thepsuthin signed an order banning the sale of cannabis without a medical prescription. “Cannabis will be classified as a narcotic in the future,” Thepsuthin said in a statement reported by local media. The new measure has already taken effect. The Department of Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine, tasked with enforcing the policy, issued guidance on Friday stating that shops selling marijuana must transition into licensed medical dispensaries and comply with additional regulations, according to the Associated Press. #Thailand #Legalization
