The DRC (Democratic Republic of Congo) has filed criminal complaints against subsidiaries of the tech giant, Apple, in Belgium and France. Lawyers on behalf of the country have accused Apple of using conflict materials. Swipe to find out what they are and how they’re used. Apple “strongly disputes” the allegations. They say: “As conflict in the region escalated earlier this year we notified our suppliers that their smelters and refiners must suspend sourcing tin, tantalum, tungsten, and gold from the DRC and Rwanda”. We went to Apple for comment, but haven’t heard back at the time of publishing. #apple #DRC #minerals #conflictminerals #congo #democraticrepublicofcongo
