South Korea’s National Assembly has voted to impeach President Yoon Suk Yeol, following his short-lived declaration of martial law. During protests against Yoon, and immediately following his impeachment, protestors came together and sang the 2007hit “Into the New World” by Kpop girl group Girl’s Generation. The song has a strong history in protests in South Korea and since protests against Yoon began, streams for Into the New World have reportedly gone up by 23%, according to South Korean music subscription service Melon. @reemxfarhat explains. #kpop #southkorea #snsd #girlsgeneration #kwonyuri #presidentyoon #taeyeon #intothenewwold #impeachment #tiffanyyoung #choisooyoung #sone #korea
