65 more women have come forward accusing Mohamed Al Fayed of sexual abuse. Bringing the total number of women to more than 70. Mohamed Al Fayed who died in 2023 at the age of 94 once owned the luxury department store Harrods in London. 37 of the 65 new women to come forward are ex-Harrods employees. The women are accusing him of sexual harassment, sexual assault and rape. The Metropolitan police say they are investigating a number of new allegations and will carry out “full reviews of all existing allegations” said to have taken place between 1979 and 2013. One of the women who has come forward says Mohamed Al Fayed stalked and threatened her after he assaulted her, and that he carried out intimidation tactics through a team of security staff. The group Justice for Harrods Survivors said the number of women “feeling safe to come forward” was “increasing on a daily basis”. Allegations have also been made from women who did not work at Harrods, with some stretching as far back as 1977. In a comment to the BBC, Harrods say “so far there are 200+ individuals who are now in the Harrods process to settle claims directly with the business.” #harrods #mohamedalfayed #metpolice #london
