Another day, another male birth control in development. It’s almost like there’s a gap in the market?? The ‘male IUD’ is being developed in two separate trials, and it’s a 10-20 minute procedure (under local or general anaesthetic) that involves a hydrogel being injected into the sperm duct. This will turn semi-solid, and is meant to block sperm from getting through. It should last for around 10 years and is reversible. But whilst these developments hail a new era in reproductive equality, people are annoyed that these procedures will be providing automatic pain relief, whilst the female equivalent is rarely given any at all. #iud #coil #malebirthcontrol #plana #adam
