Netflix has just ordered a brand new prequel series following the early life of Lady Violet and her love story with Viscount Edmund Bridgerton. Like Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, it’ll be a limited series, with Shonda Rhimes and Nicholas Nardini writing and running the show. No casting has been announced yet, but fans have already found their Violet. The My Lady Jane star looks uncanny side by side with Ruth Gemmell, who plays the Bridgerton matriarch. Same soft, expressive eyes, same warm-but-knowing look, and both completely at home in a Regency updo. Emily already has period drama credentials after playing Lady Jane Grey in the 2024 Prime Video series. She’s since become a rom-com favourite with Netflix’s People We Meet on Vacation, and she’s set to lead the 13 Going on 30 reboot.
