Jay-Z’s final concert at New York’s Yankee Stadium was scheduled to begin at 8 p.m, but after hours of delays the rap icon didn’t take to the stage until just after midnight. Midway through the set, fans were rewarded with a surprise appearance from Rihanna, who stormed onstage to perform B**h Better Have My Money* before reuniting with Jay-Z for their 2009 hit Run This Town. Addressing the crowd, she joked: “Y’all know I’m rusty, right? It’s been a while. Y’all with me right now?” The unannounced performance marked Rihanna’s first live appearance since the 2023 Academy Awards and one of only a handful of major performances she has given over the past decade. The singer has largely stepped away from touring since wrapping her Anti World Tour in 2016, instead focusing on her family and expanding her Fenty business empire, while making only select returns to the stage, including the 2023 Super Bowl Halftime Show and the Oscars. Rihanna was one of 12 guest artists to join Jay-Z across his three-night Yankee Stadium residency, alongside Clipse, Beyoncé, Pharrell, Jeezy, Jadakiss, Usher, Fat Joe, Swizz Beatz, Teyana Taylor, Jermaine Dupri and The-Dream. Her surprise cameo brought the star-studded run to a close, continuing a musical partnership with Jay-Z that began when he signed the then-17-year-old singer to Def Jam in 2005. #Rihanna #JayZ #Beyonce #ExtraInnings
