It’s that time of year again! Let’s talk openly about our Fayt EOFY stats. I did this same episode last year, and I’m back again this year… but the story looks a little different. This is the first financial year that Fayt hasn’t grown. A sentence like that would probably terrify a lot of business owners. Less revenue? Fewer orders? Fewer customers? Are we going backwards? But the older I get, and the longer I run a business, the more I realise revenue is only one piece of the puzzle. This past year, we intentionally slowed down. We focused less on chasing growth for the sake of growth, and more on building a healthier business. Improving our systems. Strengthening our team. Making smarter financial decisions. Protecting our margins. Focusing on profitability over vanity metrics. Because the biggest revenue number doesn’t always mean you have the strongest business and trust me, it’s VERY easy to want to chase that higher revenue number, but at what cost?  In business, it’s so easy to become obsessed with top-line revenue. It’s what gets posted online, what gets celebrated, and what everyone compares. But revenue doesn’t pay the bills. Profit does. I’d rather build a business that’s sustainable for the next 20 years than one that grows at all costs for a headline. So yes, our revenue was down this year. But our business? Still incredibly healthy. Still profitable. Still strong. In this episode of Big Business, I’m sharing all of our numbers openly, exactly like I do every year.
