Taking a trip down memory lane in #Singapore 🫶🇸🇬 📍Haw Paw Villa ⬆️ Created by the brothers behind Tiger Balm in 1937 and known as the Tiger Balm Gardens, it’s a treasure trove of Asian culture, history, philosophy and religion. ⬇️ The park’s most iconic attraction - The 10 Courts of Hell - is now part of Hell’s Museum and spans 3,800 square metres. 📍Clarke Quay ⬆️ From the early 1800s, Clarke Quay served as a dock for the unloading of goods along the Singapore River. ⬇️ One of Singapore’s most popular places for loading up on food, drinks, dancing and rocking out to live bands. 📍Sri Mariamman Temple near Chinatown ⬆️ Located in Chinatown, the Sri Mariamman Temple dates back to 1827 and is the oldest Hindu temple in Singapore. ⬇️ Still an important place for community activities, in 2010 a team of about 20 artists restored the ornate detailing by repainting all of the stone sculptures. 🎥 source: Ministry of Culture, courtesy of the National Archives of Singapore and Leila Riddell, courtesy of the National Archives of Singapore #VisitSingapore #SingaporeHistory #PassionMadePossible #TravelTok #learntok
