Queen Elizabeth II supported Britain staying a part of the European Union during the controversial 2016 referendum vote, a book has claimed. A book serialised by the Times, titled Power and the Palace: The inside story of the monarchy and 10 Downing Street, alleged the monarch, who passed away in 2022, wished to remain a part of the diplomatic mission. In 2011, a front-page story was published in The Sun alongside the headline 'Queen Backs Brexit, where it said the Queen had told Nick Clegg, the then-deputy prime minister, she believed the EU was moving in the wrong direction. #queenelizabeth #brexit #royals #royalfamily #europeanunion
