## Caption

The husband of Helen Haines has confirmed she has lost both her legs after being run over in a car ramming 'attack'. Hours earlier the man accused of deliberately running the MP down appeared in court for the first time wearing shorts and sandals. Tarrawingee man Brendan Nugent, 43, remained quiet during his brief appearance in Wangaratta Magistrates Court on Wednesday morning. It's alleged he intentionally struck Dr Haines with his Toyota LandCruiser outside her electorate office in Wangaratta, northern Victoria, on Monday afternoon. #criome #australia #albanese #fyp
