This one is for my steeplechase girlies who want to (safely) work on the water pit! I don’t practice in the actual water pit that often but I love to put a steeple barrier in the grass and get my reps in that way. You get a lot of the benefits of practicing…
-where to take off
-placement of the foot on top of the barrier
-pushing off the front of the barrier
-running out of the pit, keeping momentum going

All without nearly as much impact on the body as the real water pit! So you get get more reps in without as much wear and tear on the athlete.
You can also do this into the sand pit, but I personally don’t prefer that because landing in the sand is too unrealistic to what landing actually feels like in a race. But that’s also another option to practice take off and push off on the front end at least!

S/o to my steeple girlies krissygear13 and emma_gee1777 in the last video- having buddies to practice jumps with is so important to simulate a race! (And it’s waaaay more fun 💃🏼)
