Singapore has launched FirstDate, a matchmaking service for government employees aged 21 to 35, using a Nobel-winning algorithm to pair users one match at a time. Participants sign in using the national digital identity system and complete a survey about their interests, habits and values. The initiative comes as the country grapples with a record-low birth rate and an aging population. In August, Prime Minister Lawrence Wong announced new measures to support families and encourage couples to have children, including nearly S$70,000 (US$54,000) in financial support for each child by the age of 17. #singapore #birthrate #dating #asia
