2XKO will be ending active development in December 2026, Riot Games has confirmed. The studio posted an update on the game’s future saying that, while the servers will remain online and the game will be playable past 2026, there will be no more updates after December. According to Riot Games, part of the reason was a lack of ‘meaningful, sustained change in 2XKO’s trajectory’ and not enough to be sustainable. ‘To be super clear: we would have continued active development if we saw any viable future, but 2XKO costs us substantially more to operate than it brings in, and engagement has stayed relatively flat despite our larger updates,’ the post continued.
