According to Hello Games’ development chief Sean Murray, players have only uncovered around 1% of the No Man Sky’s planets, despite launching over 10 years ago. The game released back in 2016 to a rocky reception, though has since released over 40 major free updates that had turned the game around. In celebration of the game’s 10-year anniversary, Murray made a post to the No Man’s Sky community which included some impressive stats: ‘Voyagers released last year saw more players than we’ve had since launch… and still, all these years later players have explored less than 1% of the planets in No Man’s Sky,’ the post said. Through procedural generation, algorithms, and number generation, No Man’s Sky contains 18 quintillion planets. It will take players an estimated 500+ billion years to see everything the game’s digital universe has to offer. #gaming #nomanssky #scifi #space
