Players in Europe who bought Steam hardware may have been hit with a cyber attack, Valve warns. The news comes via Digital Foundry, who report that European customers received a message from Valve that warned them that personal information had been leaked due to a cyber attack on a logistics partner CEVA Logistics. The company fulfills Valve’s Steam hardware orders in Europe and had notified the company of the attack on August 7, 2026. According to Valve, compromised information could include customers’ names and addresses, as well as phone numbers and Steam account email addresses, but stressed that no payment information or passwords were affected. The company warns that the attackers may opt to use this information to trick customers into offering up more private information, or install malware. Valve advises European customers to be wary of ‘fake messages - email, SMS or phone - that mention your hardware order and appear to come from Steam, Valve or a delivery company.’ #gaming #pcgaming #steamgames #valve
