## Caption

A massive crowd gathered in the streets of Tehran for the funeral procession of the late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Khamenei and several members of his family were killed in an airstrike after the United States and Israel launched a war against Iran on February 28. His son, Mojtaba Khamenei, has been named as his successor but has so far been absent from the public mourning ceremonies, fuelling speculation about the country's new leadership. A fragile ceasefire between the United States and Iran is holding as negotiations continue over a permanent peace agreement. #iran #usa #ayatollah #khamenei #tehran
