England has officially taken "custody" of Hatsune Miku after beating Norway at the 2026 World Cup, and fans are already pointing out one major issue with the Vocaloid star's new home. The joke started during Japan's World Cup match against Brazil, when a viral post declared that whichever team won would get to keep Hatsune Miku. From there, custody has passed from Japan to Brazil to Norway with each elimination, sparking waves of fan art redesigning Miku in each country's colors and culture. Now that England has beaten Norway 2-1 in extra time behind two Jude Bellingham goals, the internet has declared Miku British, complete with St. George's flag edits and "it's coming home" jokes. The twist fans keep bringing up is an old meme claiming Hatsune Miku "does not talk to British people," which has now collided head-on with her new adopted homeland. Under the internet's unofficial rules, Miku stays with England until its next match, at which point custody could shift all over again. #hatsunemiku #football #worldcup #england
