Subnautica 2 has had one of the biggest game launches of 2026 so far, hitting more than 460,000 concurrent players on Steam within its first hour of Early Access. That’s around nine times higher than the original Subnautica’s all-time peak, instantly making it one of Steam’s biggest survival game launches ever. The sequel quickly overtook major releases like Resident Evil Requiem and Crimson Desert, while rapidly closing in on Slay the Spire 2’s current record for the biggest Steam launch of the year. The game also launched with “Very Positive” user reviews, alongside millions of wishlists leading into release. And with the weekend still ahead, player numbers are expected to climb even higher. #subnautica #gaming #pcgaming #earlyaccess
