Stardew Valley creator ConcernedApe has suggested that a future update could add the ability for players to cheat on their in-game spouse. In an interview with Game Informer, ConcernedApe said that, in a sandbox game, ‘you should be able to do wicked things,’ and that players should be able to have maximum freedom and choice. Originally, the creator wanted players to be able to have affairs and break up existing NPC marriages in-game, allowing players to create their own dramatic storylines. In Stardew Valley, players can date multiple villagers at once, and divorce their spouse, though can face a few consequences for doing so. At the time of writing there are no concrete details on whether this type of update will eventually be implemented in-game. But, even 10 years on from release, Stardew Valley is still generating plans for content updates. #gaming #stardewvalley #indiegame
