Ubisoft have confirmed that a second major expansion for Assassin’s Creed Shadows is no longer on the cards. The game received its first major expansion, Claws of Awaji, back in September, which would have formed part of the game’s since-canceled season pass. In an interview with JorRaptor, associate game director Simon Lemay-Comtois said, “As of now, at this moment for Year Two, there is no expansion on the size of Awaji that is planned." Ubisoft has, in the past, included at least two major expansions for most of its mainline AC entries, including Assassin’s Creed Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla, the latter of which boasted three expansions. Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ season pass was canceled back when the game’s release was delayed November 2024 to February 2025. Despite this, Ubisoft says they’re still planning on making smaller updates to the game: "We're still working on content for post-launch and supporting it, but it's not a full-on DLC the way a season pass would have had in the previous years," said Lemay-Comtois. “Any content we want to do in Year Two will probably be more sparse, not a drip-feed... but chunkier updates that shake things up a little more. #assassinsceed #assassinscreedshadows #ubisoft #gaming #rpg
