Remedy Entertainment has reported a potential €14.9 million loss (roughly $17.2M) on FBC: Firebreak, the studio’s first multiplayer game. FBC: Firebreak launched in June 2025 but, due to “weak sales,” the company has chosen to lower its long-term sales forecast for the game. As a result, Remedy reported a “non-cash impairment” of €14.9 million, made up primarily by the game’s development and publishing costs. The company has said, however, that the loss has no effect on its cash position. Previously, Remedy had revealed that FBC: Firebreak had “underperformed” at launch and that the studio “rapidly developed the game based on player feedback and released multiple updates.” But the updates and fixes seemingly did little to bring players back to the game, often struggling to break past 100 concurrent players per day. On Steam, the game hit its all-time peak of 1,992 players on launch day. FBC: Firebreak’s latest update, Breakpoint, implemented a number of changes into the game, including tutorials for new players and adjustments to the game’s core player experience. Remedy has reported improved player and sales metrics following the update, though admitted that sales have yet to reach internal targets. #remedy #gaming #alanwake #multiplayer #control
