Destiny 2 has sunk to its lowest recorded player numbers since launch. On October 6, 2025, the game peaked at just 16,067 concurrent players on Steam, dipping as low as 2,323 at one point in the day. That marks a historic low for Bungie’s long-running live-service shooter. The decline follows years of waning interest after The Final Shape wrapped up the Light and Darkness saga in 2024. Its follow-up expansion, Edge of Fate, launched to only 98,211 Steam players, far below The Final Shape’s 314,634 launch peak. Bungie hopes the upcoming Renegades expansion, which features Star Wars-inspired content, can turn things around when it drops on December 2, 2025. #destiny2 #gaming #bungie #pcgaming #steamgame
