A new Bloomberg report claims Take-Two Interactive was in talks to save the recently canceled Perfect Dark reboot. Embracer Group, which owns developer Crystal Dynamics, was close to striking a deal with Take-Two, but negotiations broke down over long-term ownership of the franchise. The collapse of talks led to layoffs at Crystal Dynamics and left the reboot officially dead. Xbox first announced the project in 2020 as a new title from The Initiative, with Crystal Dynamics later brought on board. Fans got their only glimpse of gameplay in 2024 before the project went silent.
