Kaleigh Petit (left) & Meghan Tarvis (right) are both #studentnurse interns at RI Hospital working with #covid19 patients. It’s a scary job, but they both feel a sense of duty to serve on the frontlines of the #pandemic response. “The state needs all the help they can get,” says Meghan. “Therefore I want to help in time of need.” “At first it was very scary,” adds Kaleigh, who is president of ricstudentnurse. “But I reminded myself I chose to be in a field where the unknown is real.” After seeing the effects of the disease firsthand, they both urge people to continue being cautious and to take care of themselves. “A lot of people are getting tired of the quarantine and social distancing, but this will not go away if we don’t listen,” cautions Meghan. “I have witnessed how hard this can be.”
