RIC student, poet and harambee.ric member devonamire (pictured center, with drum) has been lifting his voice in protest against racism, including at recent #blacklivesmatter protests in Providence and Boston. “My grandmother was fighting racial injustice when she was my age,” says Devon, a senior majoring in #justicestudies. “And here we are still doing this. It’s frustrating.” He and fellow student and Harambee member brooxana shared their stories with us – visit ric.edu/news to read more. And swipe to see video of Devon reading his poem, “I Can’t Breathe,” at the #blm protest in Boston last month.
