The 69-year-old North Carolina man accused of killing two college cyclists and injuring five others in a crash allegedly made no attempt to avoid hitting the group — and has a lengthy criminal record that includes a DUI, according to newly released arrest documents. John Benfield was arrested Wednesday after allegedly driving his 2003 Subaru Baja Sport into a group of 11 Milligan University cyclists during a training ride around 9 a.m. on Highway 19E in Hampton, Tennessee, about 11 miles from campus. #DUI #NorthCaroline #TheCrimeDesk
