## Caption

Bernadette Vander Meer was celebrating her 10th wedding anniversary with her husband, David, on a hike up Angels Landing in Zion National Park on Aug. 22, 2026, when prosecutors say he pushed her from the 5,790-foot summit, killing her. Bernadette's mother, Laura Gudenkauf, said that after arriving in Utah following her daughter's death, she overheard one of David's family members expressing sympathy for his alleged mistress because she could no longer join him on the trip they had planned together. #bernadettevandermeer #zion #crime #davidvandermeer
