A man who held several people hostage inside a California building housing both a bank branch and a school district office was fatally shot by FBI personnel, authorities said Wednesday. The suspect died in what the Bakersfield Police Department described as an officer-involved shooting involving FBI agents. The incident brought an end to a standoff that lasted roughly 12 hours after officers were first called to the scene.
