Before February 13, 2017, Delphi, Indiana, was just like any other close-knit, small town in America. That all changed when the bodies of best friends Liberty German, 14, and Abigail Williams, 13, were found close to the local walking trails. Their murders shattered their families, struck fear into the local community and hit headlines nationwide - the case all the more harrowing after a haunting video of their killer Richard Allen was discovered on Libby’s cell phone. With Allen now finally behind bars, the Daily Mail’s crime correspondent Rachel Sharp sat down with the lead investigator and lead prosecutor on the case to speak about their years-long quest for justice. Indiana State Police Lieutenant Jerry Holeman and Carroll County Prosecutor Nicholas McLeland revealed how one crucial piece of evidence is still missing - and how it could hold the key to answering a lingering question around Allen’s motive and what exactly happened in the final minutes of Libby and Abby’s lives.
