## Caption

Recently I have found myself surrounded by media of women covered in blood and it got me wondering, why? Why does the image of women covered in blood appear so often in horror media? Well, I’ve taken it upon myself to answer the question and explore the meaning of the image. From Ready or Not to the classic Carrie, each female horror character finds themselves transformed into visceral fighter, determined to free themselves from their past. This definitely isn’t every single female horror character covered in blood but I did my best to feature as many as I could. Please let me know if you’d like to see more of this sub-genre and I can share more!! (Check out the last page and see if you know all the films featured) #horrorcinema #womeninhorror #filmanalysis #filmrecommendation
