## Caption

Today a crowd gathered at Revelle College to watch the 53rd annual watermelon drop. The fruit produced a splat of 81 feet 2 inches, tossed by Watermelon Royalty Sudarshan Srinivasan, a first year student at Revelle College. The event included a festival with music from the UC San Diego Pep Band, henna tattoos, shave ice—and of course, watermelon for all! #ucsd #watermelondrop #nontradition #summer
