The answer is Acral Lentiginous Melanoma (ALM), diagnosed after a biopsy.

Acral Lentiginous Melanoma (ALM) is a type of skin Ca that often goes unnoticed, especially in people of color. It typically appears on the palms, soles, or under the nails—areas not commonly exposed to the sun. This unique presentation often leads to delayed diagnosis, which can have serious consequences.

Unfortunately, in people of color, melanoma is often detected at a later stage when it’s harder to treat.

If you notice any dark spots, streaks, or changes in these areas, get checked early—your health is worth it!
