POV: You were reminded that it’s been 11 years since you came to the US.

11 years ago, I boarded a flight from Nigeria to the United States with a heart full of dreams and a mind determined to make them a reality.

It wasn’t just a journey across the ocean; it was the beginning of a lifelong mission to heal, inspire, and make a difference.

Today, as I stand in my scrubs as a Family Medicine Hospitalist, I’m reminded that every step, every challenge, and every sacrifice was worth it.

This journey has been a testament to the power of perseverance, faith, and an unyielding belief in oneself.

To anyone who’s chasing a dream: Keep going. Your future self will thank you.
