Yeast infections (also called candidiasis) are a common problem. 

The most common symptoms are itching and irritation.

Yeast infections tend to be infrequent, but can recur frequently and may cause chronic persistent symptoms.

In most, there is no underlying health problem that leads to a yeast infection. 

It is important to know that yeast infections usually occur without an identifiable precipitating factor. 

It is also important to see your doctor or nurse to confirm that you actually have a yeast infection before beginning treatment.
