It is possible to use a tampon and not be s*xually active. 

Yes with s*xual activity, the Hymen stretches and may tear, with some bl00d noted( what is referred to as a “broken” hymen, although this doesn’t always happen).

There are multiple other situations where the Hymen can get stretched and tear. 

Putting a tampon in may stretch the Hymen or even tear it, but this is not common. 

Using a tampon should be an excuse for anyone to question one’s “virginity” or s*xual history.
