Testing for Chlamydia: Is It Possible To Know Exact Time Of Infection?

It is not possible to tell the exact time of infection from the STD test. 

Chlamydia symptoms tend to show up 1-3 weeks after an infection.

In a lot of cases, the individual may be without symptoms for much longer. Being without symptoms does not prevent transmission or any complications from the infection. 

The NAAT test is the preferred test and checks for the genetic material of Chlamydia, using samples from swabs from you, as well as a urine sample.

If you test positive, it is important to let your recent partner(s) know so they could get tested and treated as well.
