It is common for people with gonorrhea to experience pain or burning sensation while urinating.

Once infected with gonorrhea, symptoms can develop within about 2 weeks, although they sometimes do not appear until many weeks later.

Many individuals will not experience any obvious symptoms, which means the condition can go untreated for some time.

Symptoms vary between individuals but the most common ones are the unusual discharge which may be white, yellow to green and the burning sensation when trying to pee(dysuria).

Besides the more common sites for an infection, it is also possible to get a gonorrhea infection involving the eyes, throat and back passage.

It is IMPORTANT TO GET TESTED if you think there’s a chance you are infected. Also keep up with your routine screenings if active and at risk.

If you are infected, make sure to complete the full course of antibiotics prescribed by your healthcare provider and inform your sexual partners so they can also get treated.

If left undiagnosed and untreated, you can continue to spread the infection and there’s a risk of potentially serious complications.

PS: This is just one of the multiple reasons why you might experience burning while you pee. This is why it’s important to get evaluated to get an accurate diagnosis and effective treatment.
