## Caption

There are multiple different bacteria, viruses, and parasites that can be transmitted during certain intimate moments. 

During pregnancy, childbirth, and breastfeeding, some STIs can also be passed from mother to kid. 

Of the numerous potential infections, the highest prevalence of STIs is associated with eight infections. 

Of these, syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia, and trichomoniasis are currently treatable. 

The other 4 are incurable viral infections (without a known cure) : hepatitis B, herpes simplex virus (HSV), HIV and human papillomavirus (HPV).

Note that although there’s no known cure for the above 4 infections, there are treatment options available.
