This video highlights why you avoid sharing utensils, drinking glasses, wash clothes, towels and also do not k155 babies especially if you have a history of cold sores. 

Cold sores are form blisters on the lips, around the mouth and sometimes inside the mouth. 

These blisters pop, form sores that can be extremely painful, crust over, form a scab and eventually resolve. 

It is caused by an infection with the herpes simplex virus primarily HSV-1.

Unfortunately many kids get infected with HSV-1 during the preschool years.

Although there are no medicines that will make the virus go away, some treatments exist that can help make the cold sores less painful and not last as long.

Another reason why increased awareness is crucial as this will help with prevention of the spread of a virus that is very contagious.
